What data do we collect?
Professional Valuation Ltd collects the following data:

- Local government sources such as your council (Parish, Borough/District and/or County) providing information regarding your property or your local tax affairs;
- Other property professionals, builders or contractors.
How will we use your data?
Professional Valuation Ltd collects your data so that we can:
- Carry out services you, or others, have instructed us to perform
- Discuss opportunities to work with you on projects in future
- Satisfy legal requirements such as anti-money laundering precautions and Know Your Client requirements
- Keep an accurate set of accounts
Sometimes it can be helpful for us to provide information and data relating to your property (address, rental and lease details, size, occupancy information, etc.)to other property professionals such as estate agents and other surveyors, to enable an exchange of information that enables us to provide more accurate services to you and others.
We will always do this in a confidential format, unless authorised otherwise by you, or ordered to do so by a court. We will take reasonable steps to make sure anyone we share data with has similar privacy policies to us, and will not share your data with anyone located outside of the EU without both ensuring they have similar data protection protections in place to that required of an EU based company, and seeking your permission.

For the avoidance of doubt, we will never share your or anyone else’s confidential tax information, or financial information, with any third parties unless this a necessary part of performing our services as instructed by you, or you have specifically consented to our so doing, or we are required to do so either by exercise of statutory power (in particular, the Valuation Office Agency and HMRC have powers in this regard) or order of the courts.
How do we store your data?
Professional Valuation Ltd sometimes securely stores your data in hardcopy, or more commonly electronically on laptops, phones, hard drives and usb drives. We operate a flexible working policy, and as such this data is stored at various locations. All laptops and phones are password protected, and offer standard modern security features with up-to-date anti-virus software installed.
Laptops are encrypted, and any data that is particularly sensitive (for example detailed tax and financial information,Trade figures or other materials with a high risk of people seeking to gain unlawful access) will be stored in encrypted files on laptops and hard drives and deleted from phones and other devices as soon as reasonably practicable. If hard copy, these sensitive documents will be kept locked away.
Professional Valuation Ltd will keep your data for 6 years after the date of final invoice in the relevant matter, or longer if agreed with you. If you have not paid for our services in the manner set out and agreed between you and Professional ValuationLtd, we will keep your information until payment is received. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by secure disposal of any hard copy documents, and standard electronic destruction of any electronic documents.
Marketing
Professional Valuation Ltd would like to send you information about products and services of ours that we think you might like.
If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.
You have the right at any time to stop Professional Valuation Ltd from contacting you for marketing purposes.
